THE PROBLEM
Create a visual identity for Rivers in the Desert, an End of Year worship night centred around Isaiah 43:19. The artwork needed to capture a sense of anticipation, fit with scripture and incorporate GenJ’s Branding while remaining versatile enough to translate across multiple digital formats.
THE PROCESS
The process began with research and moodboard development around the theme “Rivers in the Desert”, drawing inspiration from Isaiah 43:19. We explored visual references, imagery, colour and texture before presenting a moodboard to show the direction of our research. As the concept developed, we experimented with scale, movement and layering to create a sense of something breaking through the landscape. The composition was intentionally kept open to allow the artwork to breathe while creating flexibility for different applications. The final artwork uses the contrast between desert and flowing water as a visual expression of renewal and new beginnings. Organic forms and layered textures create movement throughout the composition, while the typography provides a strong focal point for the event name.
THE OUTCOME
The final artwork provided a cohesive visual foundation for the End of Year Worship Night campaign, creating a consistent look and feel across the event's promotional materials and social channels.
